100% Whole Wheat Applesauce Pancakes

    Wet Ingredients:
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 squished bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Dry Ingredients:
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • a few shakes of cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

  • Wisk together wet ingredients.
  • Mix together dry ingredients in a separate mixing bowl.
  • Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients. Mix until everything is just moistened - don't over mix. Just remember with a quick bread like pancakes and muffins - less is more. That's great. Less work for me.
  • Heat your griddle to 350 -375 degrees.
  • If you want to add any berries to your pancakes, add them to your individual pancakes right after you pour the batter into shapes.
  • Cook, flip, and enjoy with your favorite people.

  1. Hey I was wondering what you use for syrup. Normal syrup is usually too sweet and hurts my teeth–i should go see a dentist, but I was wondering what you use?

  2. I found your recipe for raspberry sauce, for some reason I didn’t see it before. I’m wondering if you could use any fruit for the syrup?

    1. Alli says:

You can use any berry for this recipe. Let me know how it goes! Other toppings for pancakes that we love at our house include: yogurt, apple sauce, apple butter, plum butter, pure maple syrup.
Note on the yogurt: We only buy plain non-fat yogurt and then sweeten with jam, honey, or pure maple syrup.
