This recipe will prove that I adore you Mama readers. When I make this dip, my kids literally run to the table. When I make this dip the Hunky Husband runs to the table. I don’t have to run to the table because, well, I’m already there.
I wanted to make an even creamier version of our Maple Almond Butter. If you’re used to the super spreadable consistency of conventional peanut butter, this dip is closer to that. It’s a great thing to be behind the food steering wheel. You can control the consistency and make sure you’re using real food ingredients.
Measure or eyeball a third cup of Maple Almond Butter and toss in a small mixing bowl.
Measure a heaping 1/3 cup of plain nonfat Greek yogurt and a tablespoon of pure maple syrup. Stir it well with a spoon. If you’re not in a hurry, try blending it in a food processor. Whenever I take the time to use my food processor, I’m always amazed at the velvety smooth texture. Either way, this dip is amazing. I usually have a herd of kids waiting, so I don’t always have the luxury of getting out the food processor.
- 1/3 Cup Maple Almond Butter or plain Almond Butter
- Heaping 1/3 Cup Plain Nonfat Greek Yogurt
- 2-4 Tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup
- Measure your almond butter and nonfat plain Greek yogurt in a small mixing bowl. Use a spoon to mix the ingredients well. You may also use a food processor for a velvety smooth texture. Taste it. Add the pure maple syrup a bit at a time until it's the perfect level of sweetness for your crew. If you'd like a thinner dip, add a bit more yogurt. Serve with sliced apples, bananas, carrots, celery, or whole wheat graham crackers. It can also be used as a spread on sandwiches, bagels, or sweet-themed wraps.
If you only have vanilla yogurt, don't panic. Just be mindful of reducing the amount of pure maple syrup. Store your lovely dip in the fridge for up to five days.
