Whole Wheat Heart Tortilla Chips

Chips-with-Cookie-CuttersI had created something magical. The simple fact that these chips were little hearts sent my kids into squeals of delight.

10 Minute Heart Shaped Whole Wheat Tortilla Chips

I believe that Valentine’s Day is about gushing over the people you love. In addition to the love gushing and corny puns, I spend time with my kids. A kitchen date is a great way to spend time together. It’s where we are half of the day anyway… And I vowed not to chase them out of the kitchen with a spatula.

Your little Love Monsters will love using the cookie cutter to make their own heart-shaped chips. The best part? They are ready to eat in under 10 minutes.

Make sure the size is uniform so they all cook evenly. I made a mistake with the cute little hearts in addition to the bigger ones. The little cuties came out of the oven and were a little tooooo brown (like near-black). Silver Lining: I think the chickens were grateful for my mistake.

Serve with this roasted red pepper hummus or this restaurant-style salsa. Both are red – so you’ll probably score more super points. Enjoy gushing all over your favorite people.
