My Favorite No-Fuss Pregnancy Snacks

Banana-PBI am officially in my third trimester. And it feels like it. Once the sun goes down I turn into this cranky old woman who has a sore back. But I guess I’m also an old lady in the morning who yearns to take naps at 10 am. I also find excuses to snack all day long. Snacks that always end up giving me heartburn. Ug. I forgot what it’s like to carry around a kicking watermelon.

Rant over. I fully know this is the price I must pay to bring precious life into the world. And I’m thrilled to have a healthy pregnancy. It never gets old to feel him kick, reassuring me that he’s getting ready to greet us. I brought my two preschoolers with me to hear his heart during my last appointment. They were thrilled. That little fetal Doppler sounds just like a dishwasher. It’s the best sound in the world.

To reign in on my ferocious appetite, I’ve tried to find wonderfully satisfying snacks that stick with me. Here are my favorite two:

Bananas with a tablespoon of natural peanut butter.

Sometimes I’ll sprinkle on some unsweetened coconut. I always have the ingredients in my pantry and it takes only a few moments to throw together.



My next favorite is plain Greek yogurt with frozen berries and honey.

It truly feels like dessert. My favorite frozen fruit is this giant bag of berries and cherries I found at Wal-mart.

You shouldn’t be surprised that I’m not craving savory snacks. Some days I think I’ve eaten my weight in fruit.
